Join us for a fun and informative foray around South Park to meet with homeowners who have installed rainwater harvesting or greywater systems in their homes, and have abundant food producing and/or native landscapes. This is a great way to see how easy it is to be a part of the water solution and the variety of ways that water can be harvested. During this easy paced bike tour, you will see both professionally installed (H2Ome) and do-it-yourself applications.
Come learn about the different types of composting including hot compost, vermiculture, bokashi. If you're new to composting, you'll gather more than the basics. If you have experience, we can help trouble-shoot your compost concerns. Bring your own lawn/foldable chair. This event is zero-waste catered at our very own Good Neighbor farmhand's bio-intensive and water-wise garden. She'll also provide a demonstration of her practical rain water capture, and grey water systems.
Sharecrop garden hosts, Good Neighbor harvest subscribers and friends welcome! Come enjoy a few harvest bites with a catered brunch and learn how to maximize your growing space and harvest experience. Our very own farmhand, Sommer "Thyme", will give her best tips on how to get the most from each edible plant variety while preserving the plant's health and wellness, how to spot issues before they manifest, and how to select and nurture companion plants.
