The Soulful Green Practice Apprenticeship is a guided learning experience in urban gardening and community-rooted land stewardship. More than just garden work, this is an invitation to ground your body, mind, and spirit in regenerative practices while getting your hands in the soil.

What You’ll Experience:

Mentorship in the Garden
You’ll be paired with a Good Neighbor Gardens Farmhand Mentor and assigned a garden site for hands-on learning. Each week, you’ll receive intimate mentorship for 2 hours per week, focusing on seasonal needs and your own learning goals.

Soulful, Place-Based Learning
This apprenticeship includes four core sessions covering:

• Soil Basics & Companion Planting

• Native Plant wisdom and Native Gardening

• Regenerative Urban Market Farming & Tool Management

• Irrigation & Water Stewardship

Community Food Systems in Action
You’ll complete one hands-on shift in our central Urban Barn, helping with harvest and produce distribution. This is how we bring food grown in neighborhood gardens directly into our community.

CSA Harvest Box
As a thank-you and to deepen your connection with the fruits of your labor, you'll receive one complementary harvest box during the program.

Digital Community & Resources
You’ll gain access to our developing Soulful Green Practice online forum to connect with mentors and fellow apprentices. We’ll also share a curated library of books, videos, and articles to enrich your practice and deepen your relationship with the land.

This is an inclusive and accessible program for people of all abilities, experiences, and identities. Whether you're an aspiring grower, community leader, or simply someone seeking healing through land connection, we welcome you to “get in where you fit in.” Your unique interests, strengths, and limitations will be honored.

Investment & Scholarships

The full cost of the Soulful Green Practice Apprenticeship is $700.

We are actively fundraising to offer a limited number of partial and full scholarships for neighbors experiencing financial hardship. Please let us know in your application if you'd like to be considered for a scholarship, or if you're interested in sponsoring a spot for someone else in our community.
